Guest of the Day: Phoenix Johnson

Thank you for having me here on The Crypt. Always lovely to stop by!
I’m here to talk about my debut novella, The Wolf in the Neighborhood. It’s a paranormal erotic romance, with a bit of suspense thrown in for good measure, and is the first of my Wolf Smitten Trilogy, published through Naughty Nights Press. I’m thrilled to be part of the team at NNP, and to be working with such great people to get my books polished and ready to go out in to the world. I’m sure you feel the same, Julez.

So what is The Wolf in the Neighborhood about?

What do you do when your past comes back to haunt you?

Could a dark secret revealed by a new lover be something you could overlook just to have him?

What kind of secrets could you learn to live with for true love?

Krissy has a hunky new neighbour with a dark secret; Derek is a vet with an interesting past. They hit it off quickly but when Krissy’s abusive ex, James comes to town, Derek shows a side Krissy never could have guessed. James, however, refuses to give up.

Can Derek’s secret save them, or will James have his revenge?

Here’s a teasing little snippet…

As he gently teased her with his tongue and fingers, Krissy ran her hands through his soft hair; as warmth and tingling started spreading through her extremities, she tugged on his hair and begged him to allow her a chance to pay him the same attention. After the physical exertion of moving and unpacking his furniture and boxes, she knew that once she climaxed tonight there’d be no chance of her staying awake long enough to show him just how much she appreciated his attentions and how much she wanted him. Derek straightened up long enough to repeat that this first time was all for her; she would have her fun another time.
He resumed his task of providing her pleasure, leaving her to marvel at his confidence that there would be another time. Krissy didn’t doubt there would be at all; she was eager for another time. His down-to-earth confidence was refreshing; he knew what he wanted, would get what he wanted, but only by putting first those he considered worthy would he truly appreciate getting his own pleasures in life. She knew there had to be some flaw to this man, but for now she was happy to lay back and let him ravish her.

The Wolf in the Neighborhood is available for purchase at Naughty Nights Press, Amazon and Amazon UK, Smashwords, All Romance eBooks, and coming soon to Barnes and Noble and Apple.

Phoenix Johnson is an Australian author who has always had the passion for the written word. She had her nose in at least one book ever since she could read and would even scrutinize the back of the cereal box every morning at breakfast. It was only natural she take up writing.

Phoenix has multiple works in progress, and her favourite writing genres are the same as her reading genres; erotica, romance, paranormal, thriller and a combination of these.

Having started out reviewing, Phoenix was nominated for the 2011 Xcite Best Reviewer Award. She has also participated in her first NaNoWriMo in 2012 and successfully completed the challenge with a day to spare, despite also juggling a home life and full time study.

She currently lives on the sunny Gold Coast, Queensland, with her partner, their daughter and cat Flash.
Thank you for having me here at The Crypt. I do so love returning to the blog that has inspired one of my current Works In Progress, and I can’t wait to get it out there with Wolf Smitten!
