THE BLOG OF BLOOD: BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA

This version of Dracula is closely based on Bram Stoker's classic novel of the same name. A young lawyer (Jonathan Harker) is assigned to a gloomy village in the mists of eastern Europe. He is captured and imprisoned by the undead vampire Dracula, who travels to London, inspired by a photograph of Harker's betrothed, Mina Murray. In Britain, Dracula begins a reign of seduction and terror, draining the life from Mina's closest friend, Lucy Westenra. Lucy's friends gather together to try to drive Dracula away.

Call me a chicken...scaredy-cat or whatever but I can't watch scary movies- in my younger years I could watch them and not get freaked out, scared or I would just laugh but now... can't do it. Not a big movie buff to begin with...so unless someone is willing to hold me close and help cover my eyes...not gonna watch- lol

I always loved scary movies but then I decided to read Stoker's book. I was living alone in a studio apt. in NYC with a huge window. After the first chapter I got so freaked out, I called my boyfriend from New Jersey to come spend the night and he did. Couldn't be alone. That book is something. I've never had the courage to go back to it. Now THAT's writing!!!

One of my most favorite Vampire movies of all time. Well okay have all that sexy eye candy doesn't hurt.
I've watched the movie numerous times and own a copy. How could you not have it in your collection.

Dawne, seriously it is worth watching. A most beautiful and exquisite love story.

Jean, hon you need to READ the entire book, believe me it is so worth it. There is an illustrated copy of it and if I remember correctly the illustrations are done by the Heildebrand Brothers.
