Tantalizing Tuesday Tease: All that matters

All that matters

As we sat on the beach, staring out to the horizon, Paige rested her head against my shoulder.
“I can't believe how beautiful, and peaceful, the ocean looks,” she whispered, softly.
“Not as beautiful as you.”
Turning my head, to kiss her, I saw a solitary tear running down her cheek.
“What's wrong?”
“You're going home tomorrow, that's what,” she sobbed. “And I'll never see you again.”
“It doesn't have to be that way,” I told her, pulling her close.
“Of course it does. Your plane leaves in the morning and you'll go back, to your normal life, back in England, while I'm left here all alone.”
“It doesn't, not if you come with me.”
“You know I can't. Just think what your friends, and family, would say.”
“They'd be over the moon I'd finally found someone who makes me happy.”
“Even though....”
Lifting my finger I placed it against her lips, before she had a chance to say anything else.
“Listen to me, Paige,” I began. “You are the most beautiful woman I've ever met and, just because you're transsexual, I love you and our happiness is all that matters.”

Beautifully romantic. And no, there shouldn't be any prejudices. Love will find a way.
