Tantalizing Tuesday Teaser: A Demon Inside

A Demon Inside

We used to be so close. Every time I needed you you were there, always with the right words but just lately you have distanced yourself further and further away from me and I don't know why.
Everything will work out. That's what people have told me but, as I continue to sit and stare into space with my mind whirring maniacally, I can't see any way out. I take another piece of paper from the pile, place it in front of me and pick up my pencil once more.
“Come on you can do this, you have to,” I call out to nobody but myself, the sound of my voice echoing around the small room, taunting me.
Placing the pencil on the paper I stare down, willing it to start moving, start forming the words that used to flow so sweetly but it just sits there, mocking me.
You can do this, it's easy the voice inside my head says and, just for a second, I feel the pencil start to move across the paper as I fight against the demon. Only this demon is too strong and the pencil stops, fucking writer's block has won once again.

I can relate in an up close, personal way! No teasing intended, take care of you. Take a vacation, enjoy experiences and new adventures. Beautifully written. Very stark reality, which is always amazing!

Writers Block as a Demon. Great Analogy.

Good policy. If you're blocked, then write about your block. And write it with humour and finesse. You've still got it, Jules. The Muse will return and set you back on fire.

Such a raw post, one every writer can identify with.

I deeply understand your plight and hope it passes soon. Your ability to write is proven with this Teaser. You captured the raw emotions and tiresome frustrations of writer's block to exact perfection.
