Flash Fiction Friday: Saved

flash fiction Friday

It's time for Flash Fiction Friday once again. Don't forget I am not the only person taking part and the link to all the other flashers follows my post. Please check them out and let them know what you thought of their 100 words.

Saved

I saw the circular saw blade a fraction of a second before it whistled passed my head but that was nothing compared to the sight of the filthy woman that appeared a few feet in front of me, swinging a butcher's cleaver. Dressed in, what looked like, an old fishing net and black tarpaulin she hurtled towards me, like a woman possessed, screaming that no-one would ever hurt her again.
Standing my ground, as my heart pounded violently, I smiled and slowly lifted my hand, before offering it to her.
“It's over,” I whispered softly. “He's dead.”

Oh, Julez. The tension is this flash is off the charts and you pulled at my heart strings too. Saved. I loved it.
