Flash Fiction Friday: Virtual Insanity

Welcome Creatures of the Night to yet another Flash Fiction Friday. Along with a number of other talented authors each week we are given one picture and challenged to write not more than 100 words for your enjoyment.

I hope you like what I came up with from this week's picture.

Virtual Insanity

Stepping out of my front door I froze as I stared at my surroundings. Although this wasn't home I knew where I was because I had spent hours here but standing here should have been impossible, because here was the virtual world I spent hours wandering around every single day.
The only thing that didn't belong was the brunette staring over the horizon and she didn't belong because she didn't exist, she was me when I was online but as she turned around slowly and I came face-to-face with myself I knew my PC had, literally, taken over my life.

Now you have seen what I have to offer I hope you take the time to visit all my friends and read their offerings as well.

Slightly eerie, chilling flasher. Very well thought out. A PC can take over a life, it's true. Good one Julez

And now, that's virtual reality, or is it virtual fiction

Insanity, yes, I totally got that from the flash. I also got the protagonist's confusion, excitement, wonder, and worry. Fabulous and totally creepy :)

Either way it's virtually fabulous!

*shivers* Damn Julez! Talk about coming face to face to ones self. Yikes. To think of being stuck in a world like that. Creepy yet powerfully written. Def makes the hair stand up on my arms. Yet as curious as I am I'd wand to explore that world and see what naughtiness I'd find in there. ;-) Great FFF!
