Greetings Children of the Night once again to another Tantalizing Tuesday Teaser.
Every week an amazing array of authors chose one picture each and then, in just 200 words, proceed to craft a short teaser to whet your appetite. This week I have picked a picture that has taken me along a different direction.
Regrets
As the sun set on the horizon I just sat there staring out to
the water. Every year for the last five years I had come here, sat alone and
cried for what could have been. The pain still cut like a knife but each year I
walked a few feet further along the rickety, wooden, walkway determined that
one year I would reach the end because only when I reached the end, and joined
you in the murky depths, would the pain finally stop.
I had lived with the knowledge that you were no longer here
because of me for too long and, if you had just been man enough to be honest
with me, maybe our relationship would have survived, and we would still have
been together.
Yet even as we fought at the end of the walkway that fateful
day, and I begged you to tell me the truth, you continued to deny any
wrongdoing, telling me I was the only one for you and everything I had accused
you of was in my mind but you weren’t to know that I had seen you, through the
crack in our bedroom door, being
fucked by your lover.
Thank you for entering The Crypt to read my offering and be sure that, when you leave the Dark Souls behind, you visit all of my esteemed friends and devour what they have for your delectation.

Oh, God, Julez..........that is so poignant, heart-breaking and gut-wrenching. He is not responsibile, but feels the weight of his spying, the bitter peircing of his words and the ultimate damage they did, never to be undone. The bell unrung.....Living with that guilt will see him, one day, at the end of the pier. Hauntingly beautiful.:) xo
Heart-breaking. Such pain, and never to be able to resolve it. Poor man.
Beautiful and sad, Julez. He needs to forgive himself and them, but that's not easy and his pain seems too great. Very well written piece.
Deep, dark and beautiful. Am emotional piece. Job well done! :)
oh so sad... I just want to hold him in my arms and tell him everything's going to be ok...
Great post Julez, as always!
Heart breaking. I felt so sad and wanted to talk to him to reassure him. You executed this teaser excellently. I loved it
Beautiful, sad, poignant and very well written! Superb Julez!
Fabulous Teaser. Am I the only one wonder if there is a darkness behind his guilt that perhaps he had something to do with the death?
Wow, compelling! I've been there and wanted to kill them both. Not a goog feeling. Great teaser!
Remorse for an act committed in the heat of the moment? That's how I see it. Great post!
