Sunset
As we sat on the beach, my arm around her waist, watching the sun go down I could not believe how lucky I was. We had spent the entire day enjoy everything this town had to offer. We had been on every fairground ride like a pair of over-excited kids, we had had fish and chips on the promenade, and we had walked across the beach at the warmest time of the day. It was as if we were both teenagers once again. Only we were now at the age where we did not have to worry about the time, time was irrelevant, and we had as much time as we wanted.
She had told me, while we ate our lunch, that what she liked most was to just sit with a bottle of wine, watch the sun fully set and then head back into town to find a nightclub. So here we were and, as the sun began to set, with the yellow sky slowly darkening all I could think was that she was the most perfect, most beautiful, woman I had ever set my eyes on.
Turning towards her I placed a soft kiss on her head, pulled her closer and that was when I felt her plunge the blade through the skin of my chest, and deep into my heart.
