Flash Fiction Friday: Sasha's Inner Turmoil

FLASH

FICTION

FRIDAY

Sasha's Inner Turmoil

Sasha sat, precariously, on the edge on the wooden chair, her arms resting on the back with a lone tear running down her cheek. As she stared down at her pink leotard a small sob left her body, a sob which told her all she needed to know.
There was no way she was ever going to make it in the world of ballet, no matter what anyone told her and not after years of dancing around a goddamn pole wearing nothing but skimpy lingerie, flaunting virtually every inch of her body, for the entertainment of drunken louts and businessmen.

A finely crafted flash. Your character is very believable and I feel her angst after having to dance for people like she had. I hope she can dance the ballet and overcome her past.

Very powerful, Julez. It is hard to capture someone's dreams in 100 words let alone their shattering. Her disappointment was visceral. Wonderful:) xo

Excellent Julez. Sometimes needs force into making choices we wouldn't otherwise make. I do hope she can go forth with her dream of ballet

Aw, someone needs to hug her and tell her she can do it! Great flash.

Reminds me of the movie Independence Day when the First Lady thought Jasmine was a ballet dancer, but, she was actually exotic. Doesn't mean the talent isn't there, and people must eat when chasing their dreams.

Love this! I hope she does dance no matter where she came from or how she use to dance. :) I def want to know what happens with her.
